Just when you thought you could close out the year with some semblance of control, 2023 wraps up with Mercury stationing retrograde right after the New Moon on December 13, moving retrograde until January 4. The more you can let go of controlling things you can’t control, like the weather, the easier will be this winter ride of Mercury retrograde. This Mercury retrograde period moves across 2 signs, beginning its retrograde movement in the early degrees of Capricorn, re-visiting back to 22 to 29 degrees Sagittarius and then moving across the early degrees of Capricorn as Mercury moves direct on January 4.
And…in the shadow of Mercury retrograde I realize I sent an error in my last POSTING, which I am correcting now: Mercury at 8 degrees Capricorn will be in a TRINE to Jupiter at 8 degrees Taurus, not a square as I incorrectly wrote in the newsletter. A trine is a much more amenable and allowing aspect than a square so know that the New Moon energy has a fluidity in your communication that could vibe quite well with Jupiter’s Taurean energy of physicality and sensual pleasure. In other words, know what you desire to experience in the physical and let others know as well.
Mercury in Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, is somewhat more aware of the impact of how we communicate, perhaps coming across more stern or authoritative, and sometimes truly just being able to access more maturity and sense of responsibility with thoughts and words.
Mercury in Sagittarius can be somewhat loose, shall we say, with words, perhaps not realizing the impact of their words or maybe playing the jester, and you know how that can be. Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, also has the wonderful ability to see the big picture and, in its most elevated expression, sees that perspective with a spiritual eye, an eye of wisdom. Sag can also exaggerate and fabricate, all part of the charm.
Feel it out for yourself as Mercury does his mischief-making. Travel probably will be dicey so have fun with it as best you can! Communication glitches and who-knows-what antics could be part of this Mercury retrograde period. Mercury is such the jokester so
vibing into that energy will give you energy and keep you from taking it all way too seriously.
