New Moon in Capricorn – 1.11.24
This very morning, moments before I sat down to write this astro update, a dear friend who lives in an aspen-evergreen forest sent me this picture of a young moose who came a’visiting. Talk about a magical creature! If you have ever had the distinct pleasure of seeing a moose or being anywhere near one you know what I mean when I say…magical creature! So fitting as the moon darkens, approaching the New Moon in Capricorn, new moon of the mystical, magical sea-goat, totem of the cardinal Earth sign, Capricorn.
It seems more important than ever in our lifetimes to hold on to your own magical powers – your personal power to create and manifest the reality you wish to experience. With so many outside forces battling to hold power, do not forget, even for a moment, your own power to create worlds.
Many events playing out in our world will attempt to distract you into emotional states of fear, chaos, and confusion and when you are in those emotional states of fear, chaos, and confusion you give your power way to those who thrive on fear, chaos, and confusion.
Every moment you have the choice to give your power away to outside forces or to align so fiercely with your own inner knowing and your own inner desire to live in LOVE. Clear your mind of thoughts and experiences, allowing your true essence to be the dominant thought form and energetic vibration running your life. Clear your mind and relax your nervous system by giving yourself plenty of time to commune with your inner voice, your guiding light in these times which can feel so dark, times when you can feel helpless. You are not helpless. Every time you raise your vibration out of fear, chaos and confusion, you add more LIGHT to the world. Your light is needed. Each one of us has light that is needed right now.
I find that I cry a bit every day, so saddened am I by what is going on in the world. Sometimes I cry more than just a bit. I let it out – my grief, my sadness, my horror that I have incarnated into a world that still manipulates through violence and distorted misuse of power. But after my weeping I get myself together and focus only and entirely on how I can keep my vibration high so that I am a participating change agent in this time of greatest paradigm shift from fear to LOVE.
Find your way to keep your vibration high. Feed and nurture LOVE in all you say and do.
This is our work now. Saturn, ruler of Capricorn, in the early degrees of Pisces, reminds you that your true power, your true leadership potential, comes when you are aligned with Spirit, Source energy, Prime Creator. Saturn, ruler of the magical sea-goat, reminds you to spend as much time as you can in meditation, plugging into Source, before you try to take on your daily activities. Or take 5 minutes a few times during the day to STOP and just BE with your heart, your inner pulse. Every time you STOP and re-calibrate, you fill your spiritual tank. A full spiritual tank will help you navigate any challenges that come up during the day.
The New Moon is pretty close to Pluto as Pluto moves through the last minutes of Capricorn before entering Aquarius on January 22. Be very clear in your intention-setting for the New Year’ Feel into being open for positive change, personally and collectively.
New Moon in Capricorn – 1.11.24
Mercury is finally moving DIRECT in the last degrees of Sagittarius. I still have been experiencing many techno snafus, confusion around details and general mishaps along with some very enjoyable alignments and synchronicities. Mercury will enter Capricorn on January 15. Mercury in this Saturn-ruled sign could get super focused and directed in achieving some goal. Watch for a certain restraint that can be experienced as judgmental, authoritative, or emotionally cold.
If you have been finding yourself feeling tripped up, by mid-month you should be feeling more able to get things done that need to get done. In the meantime, tap into Venus’s transit through Sagittarius, treating yourself to some adventure or travel or consciousness-expanding experiences. Venus will enter Capricorn on January 24 and will be more focused on the upward climb, the work that needs to be done, and the gravitas and endurance to experience success in whatever you’re working on and in whichever realms – emotional, physical, spiritual, mental. You may find yourself focused in one realm but will soon notice that change in one area will effect change in all areas!
Mars entered Capricorn on January 5. Mars in Saturn-ruled Capricorn is probably not going to be open to compromise. The ongoing struggle for who’s in charge will probably be front and center. Who’s in charge in your reality? Hold tight to your own sovereignty. Claim what is yours. Use your focused drive to guide you to what is best for you.
Jupiter and Uranus are both transiting Taurus to start the new year. Uranus is retrograde but will turn DIRECT on January 27. February begins with all planets moving DIRECT, which should speed things up significantly in all areas. Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus opens all kinds of surprises in our relationship with the Earth and all the wonders the Earth provides for us. Money stuff can be up for change and how you relate to what you own will be a focus. The conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in April at 22 degrees Taurus is a much-anticipated time and I’ll be sharing way more about that as we move through the winter months.
Neptune is entering its final year of a 13-year transit through the mutable Water sign it rules – Pisces and will enter Aries in March 2025. Neptune is well understood to add confusion regardless the sign it is transiting but as it has moved through Pisces confusion has been extra maddening. I’m sure you agree.
