We are indeed living in the most chaotic of times and you chose to incarnate for this wild show or you would not be reading this newsletter. You would be off in another reality entirely but you’re not! You’re here! And you can experience this ride any way you choose. You probably are feeling the entire range of emotional responses to the unfolding drama in our world. Pandemic. Seditious insurrection. Violence. Darkness revealed in all its depths. No question about it – a wild, wild ride.

So..what to do? get out your tool box of self-care tools. Nothing demands self-care like crisis. And crisis always presents opportunity for change and even though change is inevitable, most of us humans don’t like change at all. So when you are confronted with things that you don’t like, that make you feel out of control, or frighten you, or depress or sadden you or infuriate you, and maybe all these emotions are bombarding your nervous system at the same time, the only sane choice is to amp up self-care.

Love on yourself as if you have been just been traumatized because you might indeed feel highly traumatized. You might feel neutral about what is unfolding and you might feel nothing at all. You might even feel excited about the dark/light battle coming out in the open. As unique as you are you are feeling exactly what you are feeling and no matter what you are feeling self-care is a must in order to hold the lantern of light for yourself and for those you affect.

Self-care is doing things that relax and comfort you. Personally I am a huge advocate of bathing. First I slough off dead skin with a coconut fibre dry brush. Very gentle brushing making strokes towards the lymph nodes. (You can read more about dry-brushing with Leda Lum on youtube ). Then I take a hot hot bath into which I have put at least a half cup of epsom salts and lately I’ve been attracted to lavender and geranium essential oils (just a few drops of each). Only use the highest quality essential oils as whatever is in your bath will go directly into your body. I use lavender for its relaxing qualities and I like the geranium as it keeps me feeling vibrant while relaxing. Nice combo for me. You choose the scents that work for you. No bathtub? Use one of your friend’s. I once lived in a house with no bathtub and kept a relationship going way too long with a guy who had an amazing bathtub in the mountains with a skylight. What can I say? Priorities.

Eat well. I have been doing intermittent fasting, which my body loves. I don’t eat after 8pm and then I eat again after noon the next day. I do have teas and water during the non-eating times. My body feels really clean with intermittent fasting and I think it’s worth a try of you’re feeling full and stopped up and generally irritable. Eat lots of veggies and go easy on sugar (none is preferable) and categorically avoid anything processed. Drink water, water, water. Help your body de-toxify from all the emotions bombarding your system.

Monitor your exposure to news. I am so visually and auditorily sensitive I watch snippets of the news on my phone but not videos at all. I find that once an image has entered my mind it’s virtually impossible to remove it and I tend to focus on those images so I don’t watch news videos. Whatever you need to do to keep yourself sane, do that. I have a dear friend who is so sensitive she does not watch or listen to the news. She spends her days creating beautiful knitted hearts and other love tokens and then distributes them to her neighbors. You don’t have to gorge on the news. There is seditious insurrection and a pandemic rushing through our reality and of course you know this so manage your exposure to news.

Do kindnesses. The vibration of kindness is very high. When you’re feeling particularly freaked out, do a kindness for yourself or another. It’s amazing how much an act of kindness can shift your energy and then you’re adding light to the world. Any light added to the world is fabulous! On our neighborhood email list a neighbor put out a request to help a family in need. Seven cars and trucks showed up with groceries and gifts. Now that’s what I’m talking about! You may not be able to control what’s happening in the big picture but the JOY and care you bring to your personal picture makes a huge difference. And you will feel better. And that is critical – that you feel better.

MOVE YOUR BODY put on your favorite tunes and dance around or work out or take a walk. You need to move to keep your lymphatic system working, to keep toxins from accumulating in your body, creating discomfort and disease. Getting oxygen to your cells brings JOY to the body, keeping all your systems flowing and doing their magic to keep you alive!

SLEEP Absolutely nothing is more important than getting enough good quality sleep. Sleep helps the body relax and integrate everything coming at you. I use cbd to ensure I get good, deep sleep, which I do. And I let myself sleep as much as I want. During the day sometimes a massive nap, sometimes a cat nap and sometimes I sleep way way past my usual 7a.m. wake-up time. Whatever are your sleep needs – give that to yourself. Staying up fretting and worrying does nobody any good.

So I can tell you what’s happening astrologically, which of course I will, but knowing the celestial gossip in the general sense may not be relevant to your personal life. For instance you might be in a very calm and cocooned emotional space or you might be revved up to mach12 hysteria or anywhere in between. You might also greatly fluctuate in your emotional experience. Whatever you are experiencing – it is right and appropriate for you!
